-In regards to FFVII remake. Looking at the FFXIII saga as a model of release (three full-fledged games). Each game will be the size of a FFXIII game is specifically stated. In other words full scale 30+ hour RPG, and they also say plot wise nothing is off the table in terms of changes. They clarify they aren't changing everything but Kitase, Nomura, and Nojima feel since they were involved with the original game that they have the liberty to add / change what they want while still making fans happy. They also state they want FFVII Remake to gave a much shorter development cycle than FFXV.

Rise of the Tomb Raider – Final de 2016
World of Final Fantasy – 2016
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue – 2016

Square Enix, Geomerics make Enlighten lighting-tech pact after bright results in FFVII Remake

Square Enix has a new light source in the darkness.

The Japanese publisher responsible for popular role-playing adventures like Final Fantasy has struck a deal with graphics-technology company Geomerics to include its Enlighten lighting engine in “multiple future” game release on consoles (where it is still investing heavily). Enlighten is capable of producing real-time light sources that can illuminate a scene and 3D objects dynamically. This is important to giving visuals a sense of depth and physicality both in photorealistic and abstract art designs. Plug-in solutions for difficult computational tasks, like 3D lighting, is also an important way for publishers like Square Enix to limit costs and maximize the profits and viability of building products for the console sector of the $99.6 billion gaming industry.

Geomerics, a subsidiary of processor-design firm ARM, and Square Enix were previously working together before this long-term deal. Enlighten is already powering Final Fantasy VII Remake, which is an overhauled and reworked version of the 1997 PlayStation original made using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine tech. That’s a massive undertaking, and tools like Enlighten make it more likely that the project will earn a positive return on Square Enix’s investment.

“[At Square Enix, we] constantly evolve our development tools to ensure that we remain at the cutting edge,” Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Kitase Yoshinori said in a canned statement. “After investigation, our teams selected Enlighten as the most advanced third-party global illumination technology available and made the decision to utilize the technology for the remake. Its quality per man-hour is unrivaled and will enable us to deliver the highest fidelity version of Midgard to our fans than ever before.”

Square Enix frequently adopts tools from other companies (often referred to as “middleware”) to help it complete development objectives. For example, it uses Bravely Default developer Silicon Studio’s Yebis 2 optical-effect technology in Final Fantasy XV.

For Geomerics, this is only the latest big publisher it has won over with its work on Enlighten. Electronic Arts and developer DICE used the tool in games like Battlefield: Hardline, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst. Capcom incorporated Enlighten into Street Fighter V.

Enlighten is clearly catching on with developers around the world, and, in his own statement, ARM gaming middleware vice president Chris Porthouse said that his company will continue to focus more on Japan in the future.

He explains, “As the number of companies adopting Enlighten in Japan grows, ARM is investing in local support so that new partners, such as Square Enix, can be as successful as possible with our products.”

'Final Fantasy 7' remake news: Square Enix will hold a big announcement event

ffvii.jpg
(Square Enix)A screenshot of the upcoming "Final Fantasy VII Remake." Seen in the photo is Cloud Strife.

The announcement for the remake of "Final Fantasy VII" was made during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) back in 2015. After the event, there haven't been many details that were released. However, Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the remake, has hinted that more details will be announced soon.

"Final Fantasy VII" is a classic hit and has also gained a huge fan base in the gaming community. Gamers rejoiced when it was first announced that the video game was officially having a makeover. As time passed though, Nomura has been silent regarding the new details of the remake.

Famitsu was able to speak to Nomura with regards to the details of the upcoming "Final Fantasy" game. He was also asked about "Kingdom Hearts 3" since he was also the director of the title. KH Insider was able to translate the interview from Japanese to English.

In the interview, Nomura stated that Square Enix is leaning more on announcing the new details in a big way. The company prefers this method, rather than giving details to their fans in bits and pieces of information.

Nomura also mentioned in the interview, "We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we've done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it."

There are speculations that Square Enix is prioritizing the release of "Final Fantasy XV." This is probably the reason why there are no new details that are being given out yet regarding the seventh installment of "Final Fantasy."

Fans are anticipating that the event for the new announcements will be held during the fourth quarter. It seems that this will take place after the release of "Final Fantasy XV," which is on September 30, and the before the launch of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue."

In addition, the "Final Fantasy VII" remake will also be released in an episodic format.

'Final Fantasy 7' remake rumors: Nintendo NX version not in the works anytime soon; Square Enix to draw inspiration in 'Final Fantasy XIII' in developing the game?

The latest details for "Final Fantasy 7" remake will feature no plans for a Nintendo NX version and game to be developed based from "Final Fantasy XIII".

It seems that Square Enix will not have any plans for "Final Fantast 7" remake being ported to the Nintendo's upcoming new console the Nintendo NX as game director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu (via GameNGuide) that they are preparing the game for a big info reveal, instead of releasing small bits and pieces every now and then.

While Square Enix did not elaborate any further details about "Final Fantasy 7" remake, the lack of updates has kept gaming fans guessing especially as to when the remake will launch and will it be ported other gaming platforms.

Nomura did explained that "Final Fantasy 7" remake is still in the early development stages and added that it will quite awhile before the game to be complete. Nomura and Square Enix will personally announced the following updates about the game very soon.

For now, gamers are contended with the information that "Final Fantasy 7" remake will have an episodic treatment and a completely new batte system that has been completely overhauled to play like an action RPG instead of a traditional JRPG.

In other news, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that "Final Fantasy 7" remake development will likely inspiration from "Final Fantasy XIII" as he told Gameinformer that when the project was announced, many people were confused by the multi-part nature of the game, but the goal was to structure it more like "FFXIII", where in it had three titles.

Square Enix added that "Final Fantasy 7" remake is a full scale game for each part of the multi-part plan as "Final Fantasy XIII" each told a story with different angles and exploring new territories for story telling unlike the original "Final Fantasy VII" were there is already a pre-existing story, which will not make any sense when it is divided in several parts. In doing so, they are looking for parts which in scale par with one in "Final Fantasy XIII".

There are also rumors that a bundle version of "Final Fantasy 7" remake could launch on 2019, while Square Enix will be developing new episodes in 2018.

The remake will feature fully voiced characters and more mini-games than the original title. However, both Kitase and Nomura stated that the mini-games will be limited and that Square Enix might consider adding big and small things within the remake using the latest technology available. Kitase revealed that the development staff is still thinking on what to do with the mini-games.

"Final Fantasy 7" remake is speculated to launch sometime in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 as it marks the 20th Anniversary of the game.

'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' Release Date Announcement Unlikely At Tokyo Game Show 2016 [RUMORS]; When Is The Remake Coming?

'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' Release Date Announcement Coming At Tokyo Game Show 2016?

Looks like a bad news for the huge "Final Fantasy" fanbase as Square Enix's upcoming action role-playing game, "Final Fantasy VII Remake" is not likely to be unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2016. In fact, the developer does not intend to release the game anytime soon.

Rumors are running rampant that Square Enix has reached a decision to leave out "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" in its impressive lineup at the impending Tokyo Game Show 2016 as the title is not slated to hit the store shelves in near future.

While the team behind the remake have remained tight lipped regarding the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date, rumors doing rounds hint that the current games schedule place the release for the highly anticipated title in late 2017.

Square Enix has already divulged the list for the Tokyo Game Show 2016 and listed some notable game installments including "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" and "Final Fantasy XV" on its official website.

Other top-drawer titles slated to be displayed at the trade show include the new "Hitman" game and "Deus Ex; Mankind Divided" sequel.

If rumors proved to be true, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will come after the release format of "Hitman." Rather than one full-version release, the remake is slated to make an appearance as multi-part game; each launch will be released as post-launch episodes.

If you've been waiting with bated breath for "KH3" release date details, brace yourself! Unfortunately, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is not on the list.

This could mean that the new game and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" are anticipated for the later part of next year and beyond. The publisher will then hold other grand trade shows in future to take the wraps off the games, most probably during E3 2017 slated to be held from June 13 to June 15.

Meanwhile, game producer Yoshinori Kitase finally opened up about the battle system divulging how it will look like. According to Kitase, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" has not completely adopted an action-oriented style, noting that it may wind up featuring one that mimics "Dissidia" games.

Considering the possibility that the remake may not turn out to be a full action game, avid gamers will be thrilled to know that the old Active Time Battle has been dumped.

Tokyo Game Show 2016 kicks off September 15 and will conclude on September 18. Square Enix will reportedly live stream the events in the last couple of days.
